Independent contractor
AUDIO PRODUCTION

I produce, report, mix, compose and do sound design for various podcast and radio clients. Recent projects have included Sold a Story from American Public Media, Us & Them from West Virginia Public Broadcasting, an industry podcast for info security firm Trail of Bits, and stories for The World from PRX and KFAI's MinneCulture.​

COMMUNICATIONS​

I contract as a writer, researcher and editor, doing both internal and external communications for businesses and nonprofits.

2017 - 2021

KARE 11

DIGITAL MANAGING EDITOR

I managed a team of 10 digital producers, ensuring quality control across all of our digital platforms including website, app and social media. I provided editorial leadership, trained and mentored team members, and planned and executed big event and breaking news coverage.

DIGITAL REPORTER

I reported and produced special project stories for the KARE 11 digital and broadcast audiences. I wrote deep-dive articles on topics that our audiences were searching for on Google, produced an investigative podcast, made social videos and explainers for YouTube, and produced broadcast packages for TV.

2015 - 2016

APM Reports

FELLOW / RESEARCHER

I worked as an assistant producer and researcher at APM Reports, the documentary and investigative wing of Minnesota Public Radio. I helped report and produce several audio documentaries focused on juvenile detention and sex trafficking, and worked on the Peabody-winning In the Dark podcast.

2012-2015

WDIO

PRODUCER

I was a newscast producer at WDIO-TV in Duluth. In small-market television, a producer does several jobs. I handled web writing, social media management, assigning daily news coverage and ensuring the show hit the air, all while writing most of what the anchors said and monitoring police scanners and other sources for breaking news.

University of Minnesota Duluth | Bachelor's Degree

I received a bachelor's degree in writing studies with an emphasis in journalism, and a minor in African and African American studies.
